Alec jumped into the lake. He didn't resurface for a while, as he sat in the bottom, his eyes closed as he tried to consentrate on relaxing. Then he heard a splash, his annoyence flared up as he resurfaced to demand an explanation to the noise.

I threw another pebble into the lake. "Why can't I be a normal demigod, like a daughter of Apollo or something? But no. I have to be a child of the big three. A mistake. All because of a broken rule." Maybe that's what I am. A mistake.

Alec heard the whole thing as he reached the surface "I guess I'm a mistake to?" he asked as he sat beside her. His annoyence left as he realized she was going through though times.
