Gwen sat on the edge of the lake, throwing bread to the ducks. i wonder what wouldeve happened if my dad hadent died. she thought. Gwen had never been so confused and lonely before in her life. Now she felt like an idiot, sticking out of the crowd.oh well. this is MY life. not Athenas. MY fights, not hers. even if i will be picked on, she wont fight my battles. Gwen thought. her life was a reck, yes, but she loved it.

Blaze was wearing red basketball shorts and her step-dad's "Choose Best Buy for Your Christmas Shopping" tee-shirt. Her step-dad was part owner of Best Buy, yeah rich. Her blue eyes looked ahead as she jogged in perfect pace, her black hair was damp on her face. "Hey, Im Blaze," she stopped when she reached Gwen and Flora, her hands rested an her knees as she bent down, tired.

"Inside the border lines of Half-Blood Hill, monsters won't even bother coming after you. Thank the gods Thalia's Tree is here." Nate mumbled, saying loud enough for them to hear.
